A black light poured down from the sky.

It was neither flame nor lightning.

Heavy, cold, and final—

it wrapped itself around the world.

Clouds burned under the sun. Winds carried only sorrow.

The blessings of the earth turned to curses.

The forests released poison. The seas stagnated.

Meat from beasts began to rot those who ate it.

With no other way to survive, they began devouring humans.

Was it from hunger, or from hope?

Or perhaps... they had been made that way from the beginning.

Their forms began to shift—gender, age, even beliefs.

The more they devoured, the less they remained themselves.

And yet, without devouring, they could not face the next morning.

Two hundred years passed. Guilt had melted into daily life.

Everyone ate. Everyone was eaten. Everyone looked away.

The guilt remains—even now, deep within.

But to speak of morality now… the hands are far too stained.

Still, they tried to remain human.

To devour while carrying sin—that was the path they chose.

Or at least... that’s what they wanted to believe.

──All except for one kind: the ones who refused to eat.

They called themselves "humans",

and scorned all others as "false beings".

What is truly human, and what is not?

Even now, that question alone──

remains uneaten.

The Nameless One

You were abandoned in a garbage heap right after birth.
Picked up and raised as emergency rations,
but your keeper seems to have been devoured somewhere along the way.
Unable to endure the hunger any longer, you step into the city...

Varchagan

The High Priest of the Church of Emeth.
Within this faith, cannibalism is the ultimate sin—
even speaking of it is considered taboo.

Only those who refuse to consume others are considered “human.”
All others are condemned as “false beings.”

“Emeth” was the first to reject consumption,
offering herself willingly in place of another.
That act became known as the last true proof of humanity,
and in time, she was deified.

Has it forgotten how to speak?
Does it lack will of its own?
Everything about it remains a mystery.

Cultivated Human

Humans artificially created to be eaten.
Engineered from carefully selected genes,
and given advanced education.

They are strictly managed to ensure they never develop a sense of self.

Battle System

Asymmetrical 1-on-1 Combat

Devour, or be devoured.
A one-on-one battle where your life is on the line.

But──no battle ever begins on equal footing.

Battle Flowchart

In combat, you can fight manually,
or design your own “action flow.”
Set conditions, create branches—
and your body will react instantly to the situation.

You can also steal the “fighting style” of those you consume.

Mask-Drive

A mask you can use only once during battle.

The moment you wear it,
your body may exceed its limits—and even your form may change.

Predation Rebirth

If you lose the battle and are devoured by your opponent,
it’s GAME OVER.

But if a cultivated human consumes a fragment of your body,
they may inherit your skills and appearance.
Though… whether that being is still “you” is another question entirely.
